The West of Obvious website does not require an account. West of Obvious does not place advertising trackers on it. The site loads its licensed typography through Adobe Fonts, which receives the technical request needed to serve the font files under Adobe's privacy terms.
Consulting intake
The intake form sends your name, email address, organization, answers, and any link you provide to West of Obvious through Netlify Forms. Netlify stores the submission so West of Obvious can review the request and reply.
The first inquiry is not covered by an NDA. Do not include or link confidential business information or regulated data. Do not include sensitive personal information beyond any access needs you choose to share. Do not include employer-owned files. The form does not accept attachments. If nonpublic material is needed later, both sides can sign a mutual NDA before West of Obvious receives access.
West of Obvious deletes intake submissions that do not lead to work within 90 days. If an inquiry becomes client work, the relevant record moves into the client file and follows the retention terms for that engagement.
Interactive answers
The Hiring Integrity Scorecard keeps answers in the browser until the page is closed or reloaded. The tool does not send those answers to West of Obvious or store them on a server.
Free and paid orders
Gumroad handles checkout and sends the receipt. It also delivers the file. Gumroad gives West of Obvious the purchase email address and order number. The sales record identifies the product and purchase date. It also shows the amount paid and related transaction details. West of Obvious uses that information to deliver the product and answer support requests. It also handles refunds and keeps required business records. West of Obvious does not receive the buyer's complete payment-card number.
A purchase does not subscribe the buyer to the West of Obvious publication or general marketing email. Buyers can use the unsubscribe link on a Gumroad receipt to stop optional product updates. Transactional messages about the order may still be sent when needed.
